Events we recently presented at:

As every Autumn since 2011, also this year the sensewhere team took part in the Apps World Mobile event along with thousands of international attendees to showcase new technology. Company CEO Rob Palfreyman and Communications Exec Anna Majek made their way to London’s Earls Court hall to network at our 253 booth. sensewhere was met with great interest as always, we networked with the intrigued, the awed and the tech savvy but also made some more serious connections and generated interesting leads.

sensewhere presented at WCA (Wireless Communication Alliance) special interest group on October 16th. There were over 100 participants in the audience, 9 other companies were represented on the panel (Micello, Qualcomm, Samsung, Broadcom, Intel, Navizon, NextNav, GNSS and iInside) all giving their vision on indoor positioning. Intel said they are covering indoors with multiple areas of their portfolio. Broadcom focussed on using RTT (Round Trip Time) of signals between beacons and devices to derive position and Qualcomm focused on their Izat solution. NextNav discussed their terrestrial beacon system broadcasting in metropolitan areas at 900MHZ. Micello talked about maps and sensewhere partnership. Samsung presented their vision and sensewhere discussed and demonstrated its Automatic Crowd Sourcing that would work across many RF technologies without having to install beacons or fingerprint. All presentations were well received by the audience.

Our app snapp!ed

Edinburgh visitors and Students can now use the social navigation app inside of key venues after the unforgettable 2013 Fringe Festival!
Our social networking app, used as a social navigator during the Festival, has now transformed to provide residents, visitors and also students with a map guiding around Edinburgh landmarks and University Campus − INDOORS! It features indoor maps of a number of key buildings in Edinburgh including university campus. You can read more about how snapp!ed changed on our blog here.
The transition and overall journey of snapp!ed through the festival has also recently been featured in the Infinite Magazine − Edinburgh Research and Innovation’s annual review of research and commercialisation. IN THE MEDIA

Infinite Magazine 2013 published a feature on our social navigation app, snapp!ed for the Edinburgh Festival. The article in this year’s issue is placed on page 6, a copy of which is also available in our NEWS section of the web. Read the magazine here.


Street Fight Magazine often collaborates with sensewhere and other location-related companies to bring the most up-to-date industry tips. In October we contributed to the article “Indoor Location industry leaders on strategies for measuring the ROI of Indoor Location campaigns”. This feature includes tips from sensewhere Ltd., Solomo Technology and Navizon.


It is now widely recognised that recent years have shown a substantial demand for indoor positioning and navigation software in the marketplace.
While it is still a relatively new area, the demand is swelling rapidly and investments are made to make the most of potential opportunities. A number of reports have been published predicting market growth most of which mention sensewhere and forecast major advancements in the very near future. Forthcoming Events

One key event everybody in the technology world is looking forward to is the internationally renowned Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Once again we are excited to be part of the exclusive event attracting major companies and industry professionals worldwide. CES will be held between the 7−10 of January 2014 and is forecasted to be a show stage for thousands of exhibitors and accommodate hundreds of thousands of attendees wanting to experience the thrill of new technology. We will be telling you more soon, and in the meantime here is some more information about the event.

Geomob is a quarterly meet−up of location based service developers in London. sensewhere’s CTO Tughrul Arslan will be representing us as a speaker at Geomob’s next event on 14th of January 2014. This very techy gathering will see 4−5 speakers talk about the latest trends in technology to a crowd of start−ups, academics, big companies wanting to network and exchange interesting ideas. The next major event we will be attending is the LocoConnect commerce event in Amsterdam. CEO Rob Palfreyman will be the Speaker panellist giving insights into the technology of indoor GPS. More details on here.

We are also preparing for the MWC show held annually in Barcelona early next year. As a frequent member of the show exhibiting our technology since 2011, we are already starting to schedule in appointments, so visit our EVENTS tab to get in touch. We will make all information sought for much more easily accessible and hope you will like the new design!
