In December sensewhere released another innovative product based on its leading location technology, geowhere.

The new geo-fencing product is a fully customizable platform which functions both indoors and outdoors and enables rich features for key mobile applications such as advertising, marketing, family and friend tracking as well as offering custom settings for privacy and security.

The main features of the solution include integration with mobile advertising and marketing platforms, customisable indoor maps, configurable settings for specific people or groups including friends/family and settings for hybrid areas exploiting sensewhere’s positioning accuracy. The notifications and messages triggered by geowhere can be sent as email, SMS text message and in app notification messages.

geowhere is a very versatile solution that can adapt to a range of business sectors reaching from networks operators to retail and advertising, enterprise, insurance companies, hospitals, schools and many other establishments.

The coming weeks will see sensewhere deploy the product for the first time with a leading South American Network Operator.

sensewhere’s mobile application, friendswhere, is now published on the Intel’s AppUp store and can be downloaded from here.

The AppUp centre is a digital storefront for existing and new PC software, apps, content and entertainment, developed by Intel Corporation for Microsoft Windows-based Ultrabook devices, netbooks, laptops, and personal computers.

Events attended

8-11 of January in Las Vegas.

A lot happens at CES and this year was not an exception. There were more than 156,000 attendees and 3,100 vendors at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show.

sensewhere was represented by Rob Palfreyman, CEO, who was met by many industry professionals and the media. Our software demo caused a lot of stir amongst the spectators and captured the attention of many different business sectors. With technology continuously developing and becoming a bigger part of our lives, CES yet again proved to be a great showcase of the many interesting advancements happening around the world.

Coming up

sensewhere is soon to attend the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona. The world’s largest exhibition, conference and networking event for leading mobile operators, device manufacturers and software developers will see Rob Palfreyman, Tughrul Arslan, Shankar Bhaduri and Anna Majek discuss and demonstrate the sensewhere technology.

sensewhere will be enabling accurate indoor navigation for the MWC visitors this year!

Following the release of geowhere, Grizzly Analytics published an insightful piece about geo-fencing blended with indoor location. This online publication, founded last year, focuses on competitive intelligence analysis from the technology perspective. Click here for the full article.

In December, shortly after the geowhere release, Zillion Media International carried out an interview with sensewhere’s CEO, Rob Palfreyman. The article will appear in their next issue in March and a digital version will be made available under our website tab: online coverage.

Ludovic Privat, a geo-location editor at GPS Business News, also interviewed Rob Palfreyman earlier in December to gain a deeper understanding of sensewhere’s range of solutions. The podcast’s main focus is the latest release, geowhere, where it is explored how the technology works and what issues it addresses.

Earlier releases

sensewhere previously launched adwhere, a precise location based mobile advertising platform that delivers intelligent context aware adverts, coupons and vouchers to mobile device users indoors and within areas of poor GPS coverage. This service was welcomed in the UK as well as the US and is continuously available for new potential customers today.
